Homework Club will be every Thursday after school from 2:50-3:45pm. Parents will need to sign a permission form in order for students to participate. Homework Club is a way for students to have a quiet work time where they can get their homework finished and get help from me. I have gotten much feedback from families that Homework Club has been helpful for students and parents.
Homework is an essential part of student academics, responsibility, and study/work habits. Especially in the intermediate grades, it is important for students to learn these skills in preparation for middle school. Homework will be individualized as much as possible. Some key pages will be consistent in all students (especially writing), but some other pages of the homework will be differentiated depending on what each child needs to practice. I appreciate feedback from parents early on in the year regarding homework for students. It must be turned in on time each week.

Schedule
Here is the tentative schedule for our class for this year:
8:40-8:50 - Morning Work
8:50-9:40 - Writers Workshop
9:40-10:40 - Work Time (Math Mini-Lesson)
10:40-11:15 - Specialist (Art/PE/Tech/Library)
11:15-11:45 - Close Reading/Class Meeting
11:50-12:30 - Recess/Lunch
12:30-1:50 - Readers Workshop
1:50-2:40 - Work Time (Science)
2:40-2:50 - Clean up/Pack up
Homework
Homework will be given daily and will be turned in the following day. The daily homework will consist of 1 math page, reading for 30 minutes (occasional reading response), and 1 writing entry.Homework Club will be every Thursday after school from 2:50-3:45pm.
